Locations; Mt. Douglas Park & Mt. Douglas Beach Park, in Victoria, BC
Hello, fellow adventurers! Today, I'm thrilled to whisk you away on a journey filled with love, laughter, and the great outdoors. Take a peek at Katie and Ro's engagement session, a dynamic duo with a passion for adventure.
Our adventure begins atop the scenic Mt. Douglas in Victoria, where Katie and Ro eagerly embark on their outdoor escapade. With the crisp mountain air invigorating their spirits, we set out to capture their laid back engagement session.
Unlike traditional engagement sessions, Katie and Ro wanted to embrace the simplicity and spontaneity of their everyday lives. In cozy hiking attire, they meandered through the trails, hand in hand, reveling in the joy of each other's company.
As we traversed the mountain terrain, Ro had one request to recreate a scene from Braveheart. So we found the perfect boulder and with a couple of laughs, we got the shot for him! (Even if Katie thought it was a little silly!)
During our exploration, we encountered an accidental detour and headed down the wrong trail—a little hiccup we corrected quickly. Laughing at the mistake, we retraced our steps and got back on the right path joking about how funny it would have been to have ended up in the wrong spot.
Our journey neared its end as we descended to the tranquil shores of a nearby beach. Here, amidst the rock-riddled sand and gentle sea breeze, Katie and Ro enjoyed running around the open space. We also saw a couple of herons and watched them hunt for food in the small waves for a little while.
As their photographer, I had such a great time capturing such a candid session. Their genuine laughter, wonder at the scenery, and playful banter, are all a testament to the depth of their love and the joy they find in each other's company.
Through Katie and Ro's engagement journey, I hope to inspire others to embrace the magic of everyday adventures. Whether stomping across mountaintops or strolling along sandy shores, the most precious moments are found in the company of those we hold dear. Your engagement session should reflect who you are as a couple, they don't have to be super complex, grand, or luxurious. You and your partner are the stars of the show and you should enjoy the shoot! If you enjoy getting dressed up then let's do that, but if you enjoy comfy clothing and a good walk through a park, let's do that instead.
In the end, Katie and Ro's engagement session was not just a photo shoot—it was a testament to the joy and possibilities for those who dare to explore, to laugh, and to love with all their hearts.
Thanks for reading! :)
